  SUMMARY OF THE MOVIE- 

      On Feb. 18, 1952, a massive storm splits the SS Pendleton in two, trapping more than 30 sailors inside the tanker's sinking stern. (Engineer Ray Sybert) bravely takes charge to organize a strategy for his fellow survivors. As word of the disaster reaches the Coast Guard in Chatham, Mass. Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Cluff orders a daring rescue mission. Despite the ferocious weather, (coxswain Bernie Webber) takes three men on a lifeboat to try and save the crew against seemingly impossible odds. The movie shows their bravery and courage in executing such a life risking task.

MY LEARNING FROM THE MOVIE-

  • Leadership: Show how both characters manifest the necessary qualities to officers in crises.
  • Courage: Through a brave character, shows the might of courage over adversity.
  • Resilience: Emphasizes ingenuity as the source of strength for anyone thwarted by adversities. We are forced to call it stubbornness.
  • Teamwork: Shows the high spirit of team work and togetherness in reaching achievement aims.
  • Community Support: Building on the theme that community is an important factor for overcoming challenges it was also emphasized the power of solidarity.
    

PART OF THE MOVIE THAT IMPRESSED ME-

  • In the scene where Bernie Webber and his crew are undertaking this risky task of going into a storm while sitting in a small lifeboat that is filled with the powerful waves, the audience, there is this overwhelming sense of danger and the fear associated with being in a disastrous sea. Such scene precisely shows how brave and courageous the rescue team is in succeeding in its mission in the middle of many difficulties.

PERSPECTIVE -

  • As per my perspective the movie I watch  is the best per my career background . 
  • I have experienced  the qualities while dealing such situation  and understand the what can be the consequence.
  • while watching movie it feels that i am there in movie and experiencing the same situation.
  • it teach me that how i can deal with this type of situations while being calm and compose. so this is my perspective about this movie.

  Introduction The  movie is set in a cold region where two T2 type tanker ship snapped in half and the protagonist sets out to the sea with his team to save them.  The coast guard goes out in the sea to save the people stranded on board a ship which had snapped in half due to bad conditions of the sea. Learning from the movie  I learnt how a seafarer in distress not only showed endurance to the rough sea and the role of  a leader in need. Despite all the odds the captain (the temporary captain appointed at that time of distress) stopped the people from doing the wrong thing for example: he cut down the life boat which he new that could not endure the rough sea and he was right about it. Not only that but he also showed how in the time of emergency we should create and think out of the box. Like in the movie he used a beam to steer the ship.
