 SUMMARY OF THE MOVIE

"The Finest Hours" is a 2016 movie based on the true story of the U.S. Coast Guard's most daring sea rescue. The movie is about the rescue of the crew of the oil tanker SS Pendleton, which split in half off the coast of Cape Cod during a brutal nor'easter in 1952. The Coast Guard sends out a four-man crew on a 36-foot motorized lifeboat in search of survivors. The movie follows the crew's journey to find and rescue as many of the sailors as they can.


MY LEARNING FROM THE MOVIE

  • Be brave and help others, even if it's dangerous.
  • Work together as a team to achieve great things.
  • Never give up, even when things seem impossible.
  • Leaders take charge and make tough decisions.
  • People can survive and thrive in extreme conditions.
  • Heroes are humble and don't seek recognition.
  • Do your duty and take responsibility seriously.

These lessons can inspire us to be better people and make a positive impact in our own lives and the lives of others.


PART OF THE MOVIE THAT IMPRESSED ME

  • In the scene where Bernie Webber  (character names )and his crew are undertaking this risky task of going into a storm while sitting in a small lifeboat that is filled with the powerful waves, the audience, there is this overwhelming sense of danger and the fear associated with being in a disastrous sea. 
  • Such scene precisely shows how brave and courageous the rescue team is in succeeding in its mission in the middle of many difficulties.

  Introduction The  movie is set in a cold region where two T2 type tanker ship snapped in half and the protagonist sets out to the sea with his team to save them.  The coast guard goes out in the sea to save the people stranded on board a ship which had snapped in half due to bad conditions of the sea. Learning from the movie  I learnt how a seafarer in distress not only showed endurance to the rough sea and the role of  a leader in need. Despite all the odds the captain (the temporary captain appointed at that time of distress) stopped the people from doing the wrong thing for example: he cut down the life boat which he new that could not endure the rough sea and he was right about it. Not only that but he also showed how in the time of emergency we should create and think out of the box. Like in the movie he used a beam to steer the ship.
