Summary

In 1952, in Cape Cod in Massachusetts, the US Coast Guard station in Chatham receives a distress signal from the oil tankers SS Pendleton and SS Fort Mercer. Commander Daniel Cluff assigns the crew formed by Bernie Webber, Richard Livesey, Andy Fitzgerald and Ervin Maske to rescue the crew of the SS Pendleton in a small rescue boat. Meanwhile the SS Pendleton has broken and lost her forward part and his skilled and experienced engineer Ray Sybert assumes the command of the survivors. He uses his abilities to steer the stern in a safer position, grounding it on an unstable bank of sand to avoid sinking.

My learning from this movie:

The Finest Hours" offers several valuable lessons:

Courage in Adversity: The movie showcases the bravery of individuals who face extreme danger to save others. It teaches us the importance of courage and determination, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Teamwork and Leadership: Bernie Webber's leadership and the teamwork of the Coast Guard crew demonstrate the power of collaboration and unity in achieving seemingly impossible goals.

Resilience and Perseverance: Despite overwhelming odds, the characters in the movie refuse to give up. Their resilience and perseverance serve as inspiring examples of overcoming obstacles and achieving success.

Preparedness and Training: The successful rescue mission is a result of thorough training and preparedness. It underscores the importance of being ready.

My Favorite scene in the movie:

My favorite scene from the movie is when the coast guard officer Bernard decided to save all sailors in a small lifeboat without proper equipment's. This scene gives me courage to face the problems head on . If  we started facing problems anything is possible in life.

  The Finest Hours Summary: "The Finest Hours" is a perfect example of the incredible, brave, and unselfish acts belonging to the brave guardians of the sea, the US Coast Guard that enabled the rescue on the 6th of February, 1952.  The event which sets things in motion takes place when an oil tanker, the SS Pendleton, is split in two by an intense nor'easter off the coast of Cape Cod; Bernie Webber and his crew set off on an unpredictable adventure to save the sailors who are stranded on a wrecked vessel.  Going on with the blocked positions and unlimited oppositions, this about not giving up and having a heroic spirit, in spite of mismatches and injustice.
